Djerdj Rrapi

The book offers an analysis of the family life in ethnic Albanian families of the zadruga type (vertically and horizontally extended families operating as economic, social and moral units) in Kosovo, based on a sample of 151 such families. The analysis traces the structural changes in demographic and economic properties of these families, as well as changes in the functions of zadruga (in terms of upbringing and education of the young), and in the relations within and beyond the family (such as the division of labor, management of joint affairs, members’rights and duties, parenthood planning, value orientations, attitude to the wider social community, etc.).
