This collection of theoretical papers derives from the research project „Contemporary Theories of Social Development and Socialist Perspectives“. The papers share a common topic rather than a single conceptual framework. In addition to the editor, Miodrag Ranković, nine more contributors are present. The topics covered include general models of societal development in sociology, critical theory of development in the West, approaches to studying developing countries, theories of economic development, the concepts of disorganization, conflict and revolution, Eurocommunism as developmental strategy, and a review of studies of Yugoslav development.
