Biography

Isidora Jarić is a Full Professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. Her professional interests include issues of education, gender, and health, with a particular focus on minority, marginalized, and vulnerable social groups. Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous international and national research and capacity-building projects as a researcher, consultant, and team leader.

She is the author of several scholarly books, including Overt and Hidden Curricula (2014), Parenthood under Risk: A Sociocultural Analysis of the Stigma Attached to Rare Disease Patients (2017), and Education for Compassion (2022). Together with Zagorka Golubović, she co-authored the book Culture and the Transformation of Serbia: Value Orientations of Serbian Citizens in the Changes after 2000 (2010).

She has edited three collections of papers: The Bologna Reform of Higher Education in Serbia (2010), Politics of Parenthood (2015), and Contemporary Populism and Its Political Consequences: Discourses and Practices in Central and South-Eastern Europe (2022).

In her teaching and research, she combines sociological, anthropological, and interdisciplinary approaches, and the results of her projects contribute to a better understanding of educational policies, social inequalities, gender roles, and public health policies. At the Faculty of Philosophy, she actively contributes to curriculum development, mentoring, and the advancement of international academic cooperation.
