Biography
Aleksandra Marković earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Sociology at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. In 2022, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the ideological and political orientation of the precariat in Serbia.
She has gained extensive research experience through her work at the Institute for Sociological Research, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, as well as the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade. In 2023, she conducted postdoctoral research within the project “The Formation of Worker Collectivism Among Migrant Workers in Denmark, Germany, and the UK” at Aalborg University, Denmark. As a visiting researcher at the University of Manchester (United Kingdom), she collected empirical data critical to the project’s objectives.
Aleksandra was the recipient of two fellowships for independent research: Erasmus+ (Estonia, Institute of Social Studies, University of Tartu) and CEEPUS (Slovenia, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Public Opinion and Mass Communication Research Centre). Her professional experience spans beyond academia, having participated in over 20 international and national projects in various capacities. These engagements have allowed her to refine her organisational and collaborative skills further while contributing to diverse multidisciplinary teams.
