This collective volume brings together a selection of papers presented at the conference “Cooperatives and Social Enterprises in Europe and in Transitional Contexts” held in 2012 in Belgrade. The book contains 9 papers by 12 authors. Taking as their starting point the postulates of socially sustainable development, the chapters examine innovative ways of securing a balanced social and economic development, through developing potential actors in the national economies as generators of solidarity and social stability.
