The contributors to this collective study provide profound and systematic analyses of how the new economically dominant group in Serbia in the period of postsocialist transformation is being constituted. The analysis of the chief properties of the economic elite is based on the findings of a survey conducted in 2012, while the findings of comparable surveys from 1989, 1993, and 2003 are also used to trace structural change over time within the economic fraction of the ruling social group in Serbia. The chapters investigate in detail materials status, recruitment, action potential, political and value orientations, and other aspects of the topic.
