Dragana Radisavljević-Ćiparizović

The book examines how retraditionalisation in transitional Serbia contributes to the degree of religiosity. In the introductory discussions, the author emphasizes the importance of a sociologic approach to religion, provides and overview of different theoretical definitions of religiosity, secularisation and desecularisation, and raises the question of whether transitional Serbia has entered the process of desecularisation. With the theoretical and methodological framework put together, results of the author’s own research are presented and the differences between traditional and current attachment to religion and the church are analyzed.
