Biography
Slobodan Cvejić, born in Šabac, completed undergraduate, magister and doctoral studies in sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. He has been a visiting scholar at the University College London. Currently he teaches at undergraduate and master’s studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, and at master’s studies organized by the University of Belgrade and University of the Arts in Belgrade. He is a member of the Sociological Association of Serbia and Montenegro, and Serbian Sociological Society, as well as of the International Sociological Association. He is a founding member of the civic association SeCons- Development Initiative Group, and member of the managing board of the European Network against Poverty – Serbia. On several occasions he has been involved in working with various bodies of the Government of Serbia in the areas of education and employment. He has taken part in numerous research projects, several times as the coordinator. Since 2006 he has continuously been part of the research projects financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. He was Principal Investigator of the University of Belgrade research team on the EU TEMPUS project EQUI ED, coordinator of the Serbia national research team on the project of marginalization of Roma (involving Hungary, Romania, and Serbia), researcher in a comparative European research project on social enterprises, as well as on the comparative South East European Social Survey Project. He has also participated in research sponsored by different organizations from within the UN system, European Commission, World Bank, European Investment Bank, DFID, SDC, USAID, Open Society Fund and other international institutions and organizations. From 2016 to 2019 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sociologija, indexed in SCOPUS and ESCI databases.
