The book analyzes social inequalities and class and stratificational properties of the Serbian society, through a crucial dimension – apathy. Bearing in mind the potential of apathy, the book warns against a highly likely outcome in which an apathetic society confronts an undesirable situation, threatening the existence of the most vulnerable groups. The hope has to be invested in stronger interest and appropriate action by the relevant social actors in monitoring social status and actions of these groups, on one side, and the particular types of their survival, on the other.
