In the first part of the book, the author examines when the transition from traditional to modern capitalist society took place in Western Europe, discussing also whether it was universal. In the second part, the author examines the relationship between actually existing socialism and self-management in the context of the world capitalist economy. The third part focuses on the social subjects and the current consequences of transition of Serbia in the context of local and global division of labor and systemic crisis of capital accumulation.
