The monograph Dependency Theories: Capitalism from the Perspective of the Periphery offers a comprehensive insight into the historical development, theoretical foundations, and key ideas of various approaches brought together under the common label of dependency theory. Particular emphasis is placed on the intellectual sources of these theories, including elements of Marx’s theory, theories of imperialism, and the pioneering contribution of Paul Baran. The theoretical perspectives are classified into three main groups: structuralist, radical, and reformist approaches. Within each of these, the contributions of individual authors are examined in detail, thereby highlighting the diversity of approaches and visions of capitalism from a peripheral perspective.
