The book offers a comprehensive synthesis of methodological insights into the use of experiments in sociological research, including the importance of studying causal relationships in society, the definition of the experiment, its advantages and limitations, epistemological characteristics, the history of its use in sociology, types of experiments and quasi-experiments, the stages of experimental research, as well as examples of the application of (quasi-)experiments in sociological research, with particular attention paid to the rare instances of experimental research in Serbian sociology.
