The study presents a part of the findings from the longitudinal qualitative research that the author carries out with a group of young people for the decades, since their childhood. Six biographies, which were chosen among twenty, are analysed, interpreted and displayed through a matrix of relevant contemporary sociological concepts, such as agency, structure, habitus, reflexivity, identity, and temporality. By developing a particular method and theoretical approach of reconstructing social biographies, the research and the study contribute to methodological knowledge, to the debate on relevance and applicability of concepts established in sociology to a specific context of the society in Serbia, as well as to sociological knowledge on how structural features and changes of the context reflect as constraints and opportunities in young people’s biographies.
