This is probably the first work in Serbian sociology which sums and presents all the major issues of economic sociology in one place. The main aim of the book is to outline for the reader the common topics and possibilities for cooperation between sociology and economics. In addition to a review of problem areas in which economics and sociology cooperate, and theoretical approaches in the classical and new economic sociology, the author argues for the necessity of studying the social determination of economic phenomena, listing questions and answers in five areas: the nature of economic action, role of institutions, relation of the economy to the social structure, the connection between culture and economy, and economic inequalities.
