Biography
Dr Stefan Mandić is a Research Associate at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Philosophy, employed at the Institute for Sociological Research. He earned his BA in Sociology from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade in 2014, and completed his MA studies at the same department in 2015. He defended his PhD dissertation in 2022, entitled The Impact of European and Japanese Feudalism on the Emergence and Development of Capitalism. During the 2014/2015 academic year, he was a scholarship holder of the Fund for Young Talents and from 2016 he was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. Since 2018, he has been actively involved in the work of the Institute for Sociological Research at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. He participated in several research studies conducted within the project Challenges of New Social Integration in Serbia: Concepts and Actors. Since 2018, he has been a member of the national team of the European Social Survey (ESS). In his academic work, he primarily focuses on topics in historical sociology, as well as economic sociology and political sociology. His research interests include the analysis of the historical formation and reproduction of social systems at the economic, political, and cultural levels, structural analysis of the global capitalist system and critical analysis of various ideological systems. He gained teaching experience during his doctoral studies, when he taught the course Sociological Practicum.
