From the review by Dr. Bojan Todosijević:

The COVID-19 pandemic did not produce the cataclysmic consequences for societies that were often predicted at its outset. From a global perspective, social relations at the beginning of 2023 do not appear to be markedly different from those prior to the pandemic.

Nevertheless, the pandemic was an unprecedented phenomenon in recent history and has left consequences that will undoubtedly be the subject of study in the period ahead, especially in light of projections suggesting that pandemics of a similar scale may become more frequent.

The pandemic, of course, also affected the research process in the social sciences.

In this edited volume, the authors present their experiences, the challenges they encountered, the solutions they applied, as well as the lessons learned from their research work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Across ten chapters, including an introductory chapter that provides a brief overview of the contributions, the authors offer a rich body of material that will be valuable not only as a testimony to a specific period from the perspective of active researchers, but also as a resource for improving future research, including beyond the context of extraordinary circumstances.
