Biography
Irena Petrović is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, where she teaches the following courses: Social System and Social Change in Serbia, Research Design, Statistics in Social Research: Introduction, Statistics in Social Research: Inference, Developing a Project in Sociological Research, Statistics in Social Research: Analysis, and Social and Economic Processes in Latin America. Irena Petrović also teaches on the master’s programme Advanced Data Analytics at the University of Belgrade, as well as on the master’s programme in Human Resources, delivered at the Faculty of Geography in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy.
Irena Petrović has participated in numerous national and international research projects: Challenges of New Social Integration in Serbia: Concepts and Actors, Institute for Sociological Research (2011–2019); the European Social Survey (2018–2024); A Sociological Snapshot of Montenegrin Society, Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (2015–2016); the FP7 Marie Curie project “INTRECOOP” – International Research Exchange on Cooperatives, within which she completed a study visit to Argentina in 2014; The Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP), University of Fribourg (2011–2013); COST Action No. 16206 EMPOWER-SE, focused on developing a new generation of researchers in the field of social enterprises (2017–2020); the Horizon project “Multi-level policies and theories on how to leverage Work Integration Social Enterprises for inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic transition (WISESHIFT)” (2025–2029); “Training and Education in Social Innovation – TESI”, Interreg ADRION Programme; and The EMES PhD Mentoring Program, organized by the EMES International Research Network, among others. She has also taken part in the ERASMUS+ teaching staff mobility programme at the University of Zaragoza in Spain.
